Mountain Pitstop Occupancy Platform
Built a lightweight scheduling platform that transformed fragmented booking data into instant occupancy visibility.

problem
Existing workflows relied on manually importing ICS feeds into calendar platforms like Google Calendar. In practice, sync delays and inconsistent refresh behavior made occupancy information unreliable, sometimes lagging by hours. With five cabins and three booking feeds per property, staff struggled to quickly determine when spaces were occupied and when cleaning or reset work was needed.
solution
Rather than layering additional tools onto an unreliable workflow, I built a centralized web application from scratch that consolidated reservation information into a single calendar experience. The focus wasn’t feature density, it was speed and clarity.
This project was created for Mountain Pitstop LLC, a North GA cabin rental company, to simplify scheduling visibility across five cabins. Owners, cleaners, and maintenance staff needed a faster way to understand occupancy and turnover timing without jumping between booking platforms or manually comparing reservation dates.
Rather than relying on traditional calendar platforms, I built a lightweight web application from scratch using basic code that consolidated fifteen booking feeds into a single centralized view. A key priority was reliability. The system included near-instant refresh behavior and visible update timestamps so users could immediately verify scheduling accuracy and quickly identify issues if needed.
The platform intentionally prioritized utility over visual complexity. There was no onboarding process and little explanation required.
After launch, the platform became part of Mountain Pitstop’s daily workflow and has remained in active use for over four months. Owners and cleaning staff reported using it every day, replacing a process that previously involved opening numerous tabs and coordinating schedules back and forth. What once took over 30 minutes became a quick daily check-in centered around one question: Is the cabin occupied or not?
